The German Association for Physiotherapy (ZVK)

The German Association for Physiotherapy (ZVK) eV, founded on November 5, 1949, consists of the Federal Association and 12 state associations. The organization is federally structured to put all essential decisions on a broad basis. The regional associations are independent organizations (independent associations) that do their work at the grassroots and look after their members on site. This structure corresponds to the structure of the German health care system in its administration and in the organization of other interest groups in the health professions.

PHYSIO-DEUTSCHLAND is the leading advocacy group for physiotherapists in Germany with international connections in the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) .

PHYSIO-DEUTSCHLAND is committed to the continuous development of the profession of physiotherapy , be it in practice, training and further education or research. As an active political institution, PHYSIO-DEUTSCHLAND also ensures a sustainable future for German physiotherapy and places high demands on its actions.

PHYSIO-DEUTSCHLAND draws its political clout from the strength of its membership base, whereby the professional association sees itself as a common association for all physiotherapists. In doing so, he is characterized by transparency and authenticity in his actions, also towards patients and actors in the healthcare system. The creation of mutual understanding and understanding of all participants is a central concern.

PHYSIO-DEUTSCHLAND is actively committed to the needs of the profession, treads innovative paths and develops concepts to meet the goal of promoting the profession. Since many people within and outside the association have different competencies and skills, PHYSIO-DEUTSCHLAND bundles them as a team with a respectful and appreciative approach in order to achieve the best possible results.

PHYSIO-DEUTSCHLAND sees itself as a partner on an equal footing in politics, healthcare and society, whereby an interprofessional, partnership-based and trusting cooperation is used to use synergies and expand strengths.

PHYSIO-DEUTSCHLAND supports the professional group it represents in the conscientious pursuit of its profession and the orientation of its actions according to the requirements of ethics and humaneness. For physiotherapists, people are the focus of their work. They respect the dignity of each individual regardless of gender, age, ethnic origin, nationality, disability, belief, sexual or religious orientation.

Our members, whether employed or freelance, can be sure that their professional association is committed to improved remuneration in order to ensure patient care but also the existence of the profession.

The German Association for Physiotherapy (ZVK) promotes and supports the best possible training of physiotherapists. The association, its regional associations and working groups offer a wide range of training and further education measures. Lifelong learning is the prerequisite for high quality patient care.
