We would very much like to have welcomed you from March 24th to 26th, 2020 at the leading trade fair ALTENPFLEGE and the trade fair congress ALTENPFLEGE Zukunftstag in Hanover. In view of the dynamic development around SARS-CoV-2 ("Corona Virus") and the increasing risk of infection in Germany, we want to act responsibly in your sense and in the sense of the people in need of care entrusted to you and follow the recommendation issued today by the local health authority. We are therefore postponing the leading trade fair for the care industry to June 23-25, 2020 .
What are the main reasons for this decision?
For us as the organizer of ALTENPFLEGE, the safety and health of all employees, customers, partners and guests has top priority. We have been in close contact with the responsible local health authority over the past few days. The Health Authority of the Hanover Region made a recommendation today, March 5, 2020, regarding the ALTENPFLEGE trade fair, such as the information provided by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI, https://www.rki.de/DE/Content/ InfAZ / N / Novel_Coronavirus / Risk Assessment.html ) are to be evaluated.
The comprehensive health protection measures defined there for the organization of events such as the planned trade fair range from temperature measurement stations at all entrances to refusal of access for participants who had contact with people from risk areas. For the largest and most important meeting point in the geriatric care industry, the specified extensive review of all participants could not be carried out at short notice. Since networking is at the fore at the fair and the innovative products of our exhibitors are also being tested, we cannot guarantee that there will be no cases of infection and the spread of the Corona virus at the fair.
We are extremely aware that an infection of visitors who are directly involved in inpatient or outpatient care processes could subsequently lead to the infestation of elderly people in need of care, which would create an additional risk for a particularly vulnerable group of people. The resulting danger to life and limb has additionally moved us to postpone the ALTENPFLEGE trade fair.
