MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Individual Memberships
Individual members are persons actively engaged in the design, manufacturing, management, service, technical support, or education of technologies used in healthcare delivery and are interested in contributing to the improvement of these technologies. Individual members must possess at least one year of experience working with healthcare technology in a healthcare, research, manufacturing, consultative environment, or military equivalent.
Individual: $10.00 annually
Educator members are persons actively employed as educators in a recognized school of higher learning teaching healthcare technology management curricula.
Educator: $10.00 annually
Associate members are persons who do not meet the requirements for individual membership but are interested in contributing to META and its purpose and goals.
Associate: $10.00 annually
Student members are those who are currently registered as a full-time student in a recognized school of higher learning and are interested in becoming professionals in the field of healthcare technology.
Student: $5.00 annually
Institutional Memberships
Institutional memberships are available to single employer organizations who bundle a number of individual members to benefit their employees with META membership. Each individual must meet the criteria of one of the individual memberships available.
Institutional: range from $100.00 for 10 memberships to $2000.00 for 200 memberships annually
Heatlhcare Technology Management Association Leaders Membership
Healthcare Technology Management Associations may appoint up to two current officers or board members annually to join META as a complimentary member on an annual basis. Complimentary membership grants access to some of the META exclusive member offering and pages.

Sponsor Memberships
Sponsor memberships are available to those individuals, for profit, or non-profit organizations who support META's mission and members through primarily direct financial support. Sponsor memberships may be granted to organizations that significantly assist META members and META through other avenues, such as, but not limited to developing and presenting education for META; supplying tools, apparel, and educational materials in support for META members; contributing to the educational content and the professional development of members.
Sponsor: range from $200.00 annually

An exploratory group was created in the fall of 2002 to discuss the feasibility of bringing Biomeds together and create a single voice for the profession
First public meeting to outline an organization to represent the Biomed community at the 2003 AAMI Conference
Fall of 2003 the name Medical Equipment and Technology Association was selected
First Constitution was drafted in August of 2003
First draft of the METAbylaws was created in 2004
Profession Slogan "Servicing Technology for Life" created 2004
METAmeeting in Boston 2004 at the AAMI Conference
2006 Professional title vote and Biomed is established as the name most accepted for our profession
2006 Photo contest with over $500.00 awarded in prizes
End of Life database compiled and posted on the METAwebsite for all members to access
Procedures library posted on the website for all members to access
2008 Photo Contest with over $500.00 awarded in prizes
2009 Two scholarships will be a monetary award of $500 and a copy of A Practicum for Biomedical Engineering & Management Issues Edited by Leslie R. Atles, CCE, CBET
